The race started on our channel start line in fine NE conditions. The wind was patchy at times during the race and on one leg had yachts just ghosting along. However four trailer yachts were still out when a blustery SW front came through right at the finish which caused a flurry of activity in reducing sail and regaining control.

With a good southerly breeze the 6 competing yachts progressed down the Eastern Channel, through the Cross Ditch and back up Victoria Channel to the clubhouse finish line.

The celebration started with on water activities in kayaks, and later in Toppers while Pipity Pop the Baloonologist kept the kids entertained and of course Santa made an appearance in his aquatic Optimist sleigh handing out gifts to everyone. The Race was run on Sunday 4 December under variable wind conditions later gusting up to 28 knots which gave the competitors plenty to contend with. Trailer yachts were the preferred option.
The winner was Angela Oswald, skippering ‘TENEKE’
Some PHOTOS  were taken on the calm section of the course before the change came through after which photography was impossible due to the waves and spray. One yacht withdrew as they were unable to reef their mainsail, leaving three to complete the course.

On Saturday 26 November a fleet of 6 yachts competed in the annual coastal race to Warrington Bay & back. A good 12 knot southerly and an outgoing tide spirited them on their way with the quickest yacht completing the race in 3hrs 33 mins & 6 sec which was only 7 secs in front of the next yacht.
